Inspired by the tragic Adriana shipwreck, “Waka Waka for Africa” follows a young girl fleeing Tanta, Egypt, on a crowded trawler bound for Greece. As the vessel drifts, she clings to memories of home while those around her unite and fracture. Amid a brewing storm, Shakira’s Waka Waka offers solace. When disaster strikes, she faces survival’s harsh reality, holding onto a broken tire. Will she emerge or lose her humanity?

Inspired by a watch repairman shop in Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar, “The Watchmaker’s Secret” is about Michel, a 13-year-old Syrian immigrant working as a coffee runner. Fascinated by an old watch shop, he grows close to its elderly repairman and his granddaughter, Su. Each day, Michel marvels at the watchmaker’s skill, suspecting he may be blind! When he uncovers the truth, he discovers a secret that deepens their bond and reveals something new within himself.
