Hi! I am
Elif Caliskan
I'm an aspiring filmmaker and started chasing this dream early on. I got my first real training in 2023 through the New York Film Academy's summer program in Florence. After that, I became a Film and Media major at Grace Church School, where I wrote, directed, and edited short films in documentary and fiction. I’ve also teamed up with other young filmmakers, learning hands-on skills in lighting, editing, and producing. While I love everything about filmmaking, my main focus is on directing and cinematography.

Directing allows me to control a world of details and emotions. Through my training and internship at Ay Yapim Productions and working with Dir. Tolga Karacelik on The Shallow Tale (2024), I discovered that directing is what truly connects me to storytelling. I’m driven by turning my ideas into stories that stick with people, and whether on a film set or leading my volleyball team, I enjoy bringing people together to achieve a shared goal. I want to tell stories that explore human experiences within the bigger picture of society and history.

In addition to filmmaking, I have creative experience in video journalism and photography, which allows me to approach visual storytelling from multiple angles.
